Ansylene's Story

What was your condition?  "I had moderate pain in my left arm/shoulder and limited the use of my left arm.  After and MRI, it was diagnosed as two herniated discs in my neck."

What steps had you previously taken to get help?  "I had seen my PCP, who was only able to prescribe painkillers and steroids.  He also recommended surgery to relieve the herniation."

How were you referred to chiropractic?  "By my mother."

In your words, what did the chiropractor do?  "Dr. Schofield is currently keeping me out of the operating room and relatively pain free.  If I were to have surgery now, at the age of 31, I would most likely have arthritis in my neck by the age of 40, my career (heavy/highway construction-which I love dearly) would have to be changed and that is not acceptable."

What are your hobbies and interests?  "My hobbies include going to concerts, target shooting, hunting and remodeling my house."

How has chiropractic helped your hobbies and interests?  "I am able to do everything relatively pain free and for longer periods of time.  I can perform my duties at work and not be in pain."

How has chiropractic helped other aspects of your life?  "I can sleep comfortably again."

Words of encouragement to others?  "Surgery isn't the first option, it's the last.  After all other methods have been ehausted.  Chiropractic helps out in more ways than you can begin to imagine.  It doesn't hurt to give it a try."
